What is the EMTEX / Designer Forum?
EMTEX / Designer Forum is a not for profit membership based organisation that offers support for the fashion and textiles industry throughout the UK. We work with all sectors of the industry from students and freelancers to high street retailers, manufacturers and designer brands.
What do I get for my membership?
Trends: Trend Books and Website.
Trend Forecasting is vital to the industry, as it’s about helping you to create the right product for a specific season or market. This is our most popular resource, as our trend library is the only one of its kind. Members travel from all over the UK to use our Nottingham based facilities.
Your membership gives you access to leading trend publications from Nelly Rodi, Peclers Paris and Mudpie across the sectors of colour, influences, fabrics, prints, lifestyle, socio-economic, women’s, men’s, kids, interiors, bridalwear, accessories, lingerie, swimwear, etc. These publications can cost between £1,000 & £2,000 each, and are totally self-financed through our membership and services; so to get access to these publications alone for the cost of your membership fee is a huge benefit.
We also have a subscription to Stylesight, which can be accessed on our library computers. It is an information provider for the fashion industry. You can print from their image library of over million images, worldwide reports on trend forecasting, designer collections, trade shows, key stores etc and these change daily.
Directory: Of Freelancers.
If you wish to work with a Freelancer designer, pattern cutter or grader with specific skills or location, then you can browse our Directories to find a perfect match.
Recruitment: Find or advertise jobs through us.
As we have an industry specific database of approx. 7,000 contacts, therefore we are the perfect place for you to advertise your vacancies. At a reduced cost to members, we will send an e-mail out to all our relevant contacts.
Business Space: Studios for rent.
Above the Designer Forum, we have studios of various sizes and prices for small or start up businesses. The advantages are; city centre location, business / water rates included unlimited broadband access, CCTV and 24 hour access.
Seminar Room Hire: Hold your event at the Designer Forum.
Our 5m x 14m room is available to hire for seminars, workshops or meetings. It can be set out with a board meeting style table, desks and chairs for lectures, or theatre style chairs for presentations. The capacity is up to 50 people. A computer and a projector with a large screen are all available.
How Do I Become a Member?
The Designer Forum offers a variety of rates from student through to corporate membership, all of which provide great value for money and the opportunity to access a number of discounts and exclusive services.
Membership Rates Student Membership = £25+VAT.
Individual Freelancer Membership = £50+VAT
For Companies employing 1 person membership = £100 + VAT(With 1x DF named user)
For Companies employing 2-50 people membership = £150 + VAT(With 5 x DF named users)
For Companies employing 51-200 people membership = £175 + VAT (With 10 x DF named users)
For Companies employing 200 + people membership = £250 + VAT(With 20 x DF named users)
Major Retailers = £500 + VAT(With 25 x DF named users) or £1000 +VAT (with 60 x DF named users)
